Description

Sicily, the pearl of the Mediterranean, attracts more than 1.5 million visitors each year. Known for its flavorful cuisine, pleasant climate, picturesque hill towns, rich ancient history, and flourishing arts scene, the island has plenty to offer all her guests.

An excellent companion for travelers, this guide covers the region’s major sites and cultural attractions and introduces the reader to the basics of the Sicilian language.  Extensive travel sections cover major cities, events and festivals, hotels, restaurants, arts, and architecture.  An introductory language guide includes grammar basics, useful vocabulary, and dialogues in both Sicilian and Italian. Two audio CDs provide clear pronunciation of the dialogues and phrases by native Sicilian and Italian speakers.
