Dari is one of the official languages of Afghanistan, and shares a long literary history with the Persian (Farsi) of Iran, and the Tajik of Tajikistan. Dari is written in a modified form of the Arabic script, and Beginner's Dari with Audio CD lays the foundation by teaching how to read, write, and pronounce the 32 letters of the Dari alphabet.
Later lessons build on the Dari alphabet with explanations of basic grammar, syntax, and vocabulary, all supported by the audio CD with correct pronunciation by native speakers. Each lesson includes exercises to reinforce the material introduced, as well as expressions and phrases, so students can practice the language as spoken.
